If there was ever a town made for tourists, it's New Orleans. There are sights to see, tours to take, and souvenirs aplenty. But first and foremost, New Orleans is an eating man's town. Oysters Rockefeller, Bananas Foster, Po' Boy sandwiches, beignets and cafe au lait are just the beginning of the endless parade of chow that awaits. There are more restaurants per square mile than in any other city on earth.

I recommend going in the Spring --when the alligators are awake--and taking a swamp tour.
